Here I am…TPSC morphs, again

This thing that is the Traveling Psychic Supper Club is always changing.  Sometimes it takes long naps, but it’s always there.  It looks like it’s waking up, again, yawning and stretching, rubbing it’s eyes and smiling.  It’s been a while since I’ve written here, almost a year since 68 Kill, since SXSW, but even though I haven’t written, it never leaves me.  It’s like a cat sleeping in the sun beaming in through a window, curled up forever, then suddenly on your shoulder wanting attention.  FEED ME.  OK, so, let’s eat.

Looks like dinners are back.  I haven’t stopped doing private readings, but dinners have been sleeping in the sun while I’ve been applying the work to other areas in life, mental health, trauma, substance use and community.  I’ve continued to do private dinners for my favorite clients, and have been doing some Continue reading “Here I am…TPSC morphs, again”

Creating Catalysts – Psi-Mind, Evolution and Accessing Upper Intelligence

It’s been a while and again, of course TPSC has undergone a change, but it’s part of a long line of evolution…

we’ve gone from social – raising the flag to draw those first key individuals, all of whom have moved on, or mostly moved on….worked on the beginnings of a TV show – which showed me I can’t conform to be something I’m not, I don’t fit into a box.  When we were doing that I was worried all the time, is this what a network would want?  Am I doing this the right way?  Is this going to be put together in a way that represents what I’m truly trying to convey?  So even though the show didn’t materialize – it did it’s job.  It showed me I have to be exactly who I am and not worry about what other people think.

During that time TPSC also became a radio show – we are broadcast every Thursday evening at 5:00pm central time on  – if you miss a show or would like to go back and listen to old shows TPSC is available on demand here: – there are currently 53 shows available – and you can listen on the site or download them.  The radio show broadened the reach, and it brought in yet more amazing minds who continue on with me today.  Others that are living this life, utilizing the skills we all have available to us.  I value and reach out to these minds on a regular basis, check in and continue to evaluate my own growth.  For these people and relationships I am eternally grateful.

And the evolution has continued.  Now TPSC is a focused development and study group, meeting again in Austin, Texas.  We are monthly again, not around food, but around information.  In my own personal evolution I have become a researcher and am
daily gaining knowledge and information about that which exists outside of us.  Information that our Psi-mind can access.  In the future this blog will be used as a source to store information about my research, as a place to reach others that are doing similar research, even in fringe areas, and of course to connect with readers and share information.  TPSC is no longer a social group, that time has past.  We have always been about development, but now the time has come to push all…for lack of a better word – bullshit aside.  It’s time to get down to it.  There is work to be done.  Another thing:  I’m not adding pretty pictures, I don’t care about SEO.  If you find this page, it’s because you were meant to be here.  I’m not using internet tricks to draw traffic to this page.

And to the skeptics I say:  Just because you – you yourself personally, or who you represent  – don’t see something doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.  You can say all you want about me, fellow researchers, fellow Psi-minded, it doesn’t matter.  There are those of us already accessing and living full and growing lives utilizing our Psi skills.  Your fear and need to admonish us only keeps other people away and closed off from their ingrained God given Upper Intelligence.  Many people are living rich full lives, where there is no division between the Psi-mind and the “human” mind.  We are here, we are accessing what exists and is available to all of us.  Shame on you for keeping people in the dark.  There is a tipping point coming.  Fear can hide what exists for only so long.  And I extend an invitation:  Join us any time.  🙂

Pendulum Eventulum – An Artist/Psychic Collaboration

Even if you aren’t in Austin and follow the blog, I wanted to share this cool event we are doing here on Friday, I’ll make sure and take lots of pics and post them, I can’t wait to see this crazy pendulum create a bunch of different art pieces…and if you are in Austin, Join US!

Here’s the scoop – THIS IS GOING TO BE A VERY COOL EVENT!  SORRY FOR THE SHORT NOTICE BUT: Austin Artist Tina Schweiger is moving her studio, currently located at Artpost, and will be closing her doors (for now) at the end of the month.  So what better way to say farewell than one last HURRAH!

This evening will include an amazing MASSIVE PENDULUM (10 ft. high) demonstration where you can create YOUR OWN personal art piece, choosing your own color palette – your energy creates the pattern.  THE PIECE YOU CREATE IS YOURS TO KEEP.  Additionally we’ll enjoy a smaller, but no less impressive demonstration of how your own energy works with a pendulum in hand by Traveling Psychic Supper Club founder Deborah Antich.  (HEE HEE That’s ME!)   Some hand-made pendulums will also be available for purchase.  We invite you to spend the evening with us at this intimate and unique event.  Reservations required, Space is limited to 10 painters, each may bring a guest.  RESERVATIONS must be made through Tina’s site HERE –

The cost for this event is $59 and includes artwork.

Tina will provide all supplies – you provide the landing point!  This can be canvas, plywood, anything that will hold paint.  The bigger the better!  Tina recommends 4 ft. x 4 ft.  but something a little smaller will work too.  Here are some examples of Tina’s work –

Now where else can you get a custom art piece that you actually created with a giant pendulum?  ONLY IN AUSTIN, BABY!

Ryan Gosling, Ron Swanson, the Weinstein Company and how they fit together in my life

Ok, so this is going to be probably a super long post.  But I think it’s interesting and I hope that you do too, and if you stick with me all the way to the end I think you’ll be happy or at least maybe get it.  If not you are welcome to tell me it sucked in the comments section below.

So if you read this blog you know I’m psychic and blah blah blah.  But I don’t write about most of the crazy amazing stuff that happens to me on here because so much STUPID CRAZY AMAZING stuff happens that involves other people that I don’t know what I can write about and what I can’t.  But I picked up Nick Offerman’s book Paddle Your Own Canoe – which is fantastic, if you haven’t heard about it, well its really good.  It’s really fucking good.  And what I’m getting from this book is – tell your story.  So I’m going to start telling my stories.  And that may involve a little cussing, Mom, sorry about that, just skip over those words.  But these are my stories and sometimes they involve other people, some of whom you may have heard of.  So this is one of them.

OK, jeez where do I start?  Well, a while back a director, David contacted me because he had come across the Supper Club on as he said, the Interwebs.  He was putting together pitches for a network that had to do with food, I’ll leave it at that, and was I interested in putting something together.  Well, I was so we did.  The main people involved with the supper club at the time, David and his Production Partner Andrew – both just stellar, top notch guys, who I loved then and love now, we got together and put something together and then David went to pitch it, and it didn’t stick.  Something I’ve learned about TV in my experiences with her, is that TV is a fickle bitch.  What she craves and desires one minute, is thrown to the wayside the next.  ACTUALLY, sometimes she tells you what she wants to your face, petting you and coddling you and caressing you the whole time, while speaking with a forked tongue to the SIDE and telling someone else, while petting and coddling them – that she wants  something completely different.  Yea, it is what it is.  I don’t take it personally.

So although that network wasn’t down for it, David said, hey, we have something here.  So let’s do this let’s keep going.  So we did.  An amazing benefactor came literally out of nowhere, and from right beside me at the same time, to provide the cash to self finance this project.  For that I am eternally grateful, and this person knows it.  This person is pretty freaking special to me, that having nothing to do with the large pile of cash.  So we shot some footage here around Austin and had an amazingly fun time doing it, and it was all like a dream.  And I kept saying, is this real, is this really happening, going to happen, etc.  But we kept going and it was awesome.

So then we had all this footage, and David was doing his part, and Andrew was doing his part, and we were just waiting.  This was over the summer, David and I would talk on the phone, he would tell me what he had, I would tell him what was coming in about it, and we would go from there.  When I say “coming in” I mean psychicly.  So David was telling me all the people he knew in the industry, and who he could show this to and should he and I kept feeling like the person to show this to is someone you will meet socially.  I was like, who have you met recently, at a party or something like that?  And he was like, well, I just met this one guy, but he works for the Weinstein Company, but they wouldn’t want this, they mainly do film.  But I was like, no I don’t care about that, but this is the guy to show our stuff to.  Just do that and he’ll have the right input.  He’s Our Guy.  For now.  So some more time went by, we waited some more.  And David did his thing, and Andrew did his thing.  So somewhere in there, David did show Our Guy – and he liked it.  And that felt good that the guy I thought was our guy liked it.  So here is something that happens a lot in TV that I found out.  People – meaning production companies – pitch show ideas like crazy, all the time.  Like, they make up an idea and just pitch it, to see if it sticks.  And they pitch constantly, like 20 ideas at a time.  I found out more about this at RealScreen – a conference I’m going to talk about later if you stick around you’ll see that word again.  But so David was showing this project to Our Guy and he said something about us being real psychics, this was a real group, that really met for Dinner and discussion, and I don’t think anyone who had seen this footage before had known that.  I mean, I just assumed that people knew it because I didn’t know anything about this business at the time.  I think they thought that this was a made up scenario with actors that someone had thrown together and shot some scenes.  But the scenes we shot were actually all stuff we really did, or based on real experiences we really had had.  So I think that was like, totally off the page of how things normally happen so Our Guy at the Weinstein Company was like, oh, I didn’t know these people were real, I want it.  Well, That’s how it seems to have happened at least.  Either way, we signed on with The Weinstein Company.  Holy Shit.  Like Martin Laurence says in Bad Boys –

So wait.  Now I think you may be saying, this bitch just put Ryan Gosling in the title to drive traffic to her blog.  Fuck her.  No dude, I’m getting to that part.  So settle down.  So we had come on with Weinstein, and I just started thinking about Ryan Gosling a lot.  And I like Ryan Gosling just fine, but I was thinking about him a LOT.  More than I should have been for some reason.  I mean, more than was normal.  At this point I had gone to Boston with a couple of members of the Supper Club, Susan and Lacey and the whole time I was there, I was listening to Dead Man’s Bones – which is Ryan Gosling’s band.  And they are brilliant.  I am actually mad that RG won’t get it together and make another album, I love this one so much, but that’s neither here nor there, I mean he’s got his own life going on so whatever.

But every night I was in Boston, I didn’t sleep that well – and that’s a whole other story, but every night I listened to Dead Man’s Bones while trying to go to sleep.  Then out of nowhere it hit me, he was supposed to do the music for the show.  The show we didn’t even have edited together yet, that we weren’t even pitching yet, yep, that was it.  Even if it was just him and Zach, the other guy in the band hitting a kids xylophone with a tiny cobbler’s hammer while humming, he was the one to do the music.  Yes, I know this is crazy.  And yes, I do know Ryan Gosling is an A list celebrity.  And he would never do it, but like I didn’t care.  I called David and told him this information.  He was like, uh, Deb, I’m not sure about this.  Are you sure?  and I was like, yep.  I don’t know how you are going to make this happen, but I know you will do what needs to be done and let’s go from there.  So God Bless him, he did.  He contacted RG’s agent about him doing the music for the show.  He even sent me the emails about it.  I was like, THIS IS FREAKING NUTS!! HA HA HA My director is talking to RYAN FUCKING GOSLING’S agent about my show.  Well, they exchanged emails at least.  She very graciously and sweetly replied that that wasn’t really in the vein of RG’s direction right now, so no he wouldn’t be doing it, but thank you for thinking of him for the project.  It didn’t happen, but I don’t care, I love that story.  And now RG keeps tapping on my brain again, I’ve been thinking about him for the past couple of days, randomly, actually not so randomly, but that’s for later in the story.  Either way, I didn’t just use Ryan’ Gosling’s name to drive people to the blog, and we didn’t get him for the music, but it fits in with the bigger picture anyway.  So, where was I…

OK so Weinstein had the project now, was editing it, and we were waiting.  I mean, I was doing my own thing here, don’t get me wrong, but we were waiting.  Then everything was edited together into a sizzle – this is what they use to pitch your show or idea to the big wigs.  And they did, seriously, it was crazy.  Top folks over at the Weinstein Company were pitching my idea, I even heard that Harvey himself was talking about it over lunches – LUNCHES for GOD SAKES with Execs.  This still blows my mind.  So the top people in the top tiers were handling my project.  And that was pretty cool.  So all this pitching was going on and we were getting information about it, and all the time, there was something scratching at the back of my head that the timing wasn’t right.  I didn’t listen to that little scratching, I just kept on keepin’ on because I was like, hey little scratch, you aren’t there.  So we kept going.

And not much happened.  A year went by.  Something I also found out about the TV industry is this – it moves freaking FAST.  And what is an amazing idea one minute, is yesterday’s empty pizza box the next.  And that’s just the way it is.  You don’t stay shiny for long.  So all this amazing energy and…nothing.  Within seconds we were yesterday’s news, old hat.  So we waited.  Then January came.  That’s when RealScreen is – this big reality TV conference that happened in DC this past year.  I was talking to Andrew and mentioned in passing that something big was coming at the end of January.  I don’t know anything about RealScreen, wouldn’t have had any reason to know about it.  But Andrew stopped and said, Deb, do you know what happens in the end of January?  And I was like, no, what?  And he said, RealScreen.  And I was like, OK.  What’s that?  Then he told me and I was like, I need to be there.  We’ve got to get me to RealScreen.  And they did.  These guys that believed in this tiny idea, and some other outside/inside forces that I knew about too, made it happen.  This was it.  This was our last ditch effort to make this happen.  And we gave it our all.  We did everything we could do, we met some Freaking AMAZING people while there, I met Chris, a member of the team that had been looking at my face all these hours of editing, who felt he knew me, which was surreal, and he was awesome!  I met Our Guy at Weinstein face to face, and loved him just as much as I always had.  I met so many people in the industry, producers, talent (I was considered “talent” while there with my Supper Club colleague, Kelly, who was also there to represent us – “talent” that cracked me up.)  We were all co-creators on this crazy ride.  And it was a crazy ride.  Sometimes Kelly and I would just look at each other and be like W – T – F.

While I was there I was reading the whole time, the psychic never sleeps…and I was picking everything up, the crazy energy being projected from the pitchers, the producers looking to sell a show, the deflection of this energy from the execs, Just this super whirl of energy, hope, confidence, and deflection, the denial of one idea, the picking up and dusting off, then the running back into the fire with another.  It was crazy and fun, to see from the outside.  Everyone was there with a million ideas, and I realized, wow, we are here with ONE.  One idea.  we were like little kids walking into the world cup with a street ball under our arms.  Underdogs.  To THE MAX.  But it was perfect.  We did it too, our people pitched to their people, that stuff was out of my hands and I was glad.  I was there for the experience, to promote my show, but a larger experience grew from that, and I met some people that I was meant to meet, one in particular who is a crazy super big wig producer – I heard him speak in the morning to a massive audience and just OWN it, then heard him speak later that day to a smaller audience, of which I was a part – and just holding each person there in the palm of his hand, I walked right up to him afterwards and asked him to join me for a beer, because I just wanted to KNOW this guy,  Not because of TV, but just because he’s amazing.  Well, we didn’t have a beer then, but did later on that evening, actually it was drinks not a beer, shots that were named AFTER him at this big party we were all at with all these crazy executives.  (I drank one shot and that was enough).  We had an amazing conversation that has led to a wonderful friendship.  And I treasure it, and it has nothing, nothing to do with TV.  I love it when that happens, when you are led somewhere for what seems one reason, but something even more special and important grows from it.  That’s where the real meat is.  Oh btw, this producer, you may know some of his work, he does a little show about fishing boats that you may have seen, it’s been on for about 10 years now.

So, maybe now you are asking, well what happened to the show????  Well, nothing.  Wait, not nothing.  More like Nothing and Everything.  We had this amazing experience, this wild ride, got hooked up with the top tiers, and got exactly what we were supposed to from it, and it has it’s place in time and in our lives and it’s done.  What we put together and pitched, doesn’t even exist anymore, in the way it was then.  It’s grown, and shifted, and moved into something else.  Some people have left, and many more people have come in.  And it’s still growing and becoming more and more amazing.  And it’s not over.  No way, not for a long shot.  But it’s mine, and I own it, and I’ve gotten everything back to move this forward on my own with the PHENOMENAL people that are involved now, and more are coming to it every day, this tiny idea.  This makes me incredibly happy – this crazy, crazy ride.

So I’ve been reading Nick Offerman’s book, and I just picked it up and started reading a chapter I  thought I would like, which mentions Ryan Gosling a couple of times.  And like I said, I had been thinking about him again for some reason.  That wasn’t making it past me…so I got to the last page of the chapter, and turned the page.  The next chapter was ACTUALLY the one I had gone to read, so do you see what I’m saying, I read the wrong chapter by accident.  By beautiful, crazy accident, which wasn’t an accident at all.  The chapter I actually read was Finding Swanson, about how Offerman went through all of these crazy experiences and auditions, and how he got to Ron Swanson.  And how if he had taken any of the ones that he didn’t get, he wouldn’t have gotten Ron.  And who else was MADE to play Ron Swanson, but Nick Offerman?

It shows me again, how everything fits into the perfect place at just the right time.  Thank you, Ron Swanson.

Mother’s Cafe, NDEs – Looking forward to March but not SXSW

February’s dinner was at Mother’s Cafe – a REALLY popular vegetarian/vegan restaurant in the Hyde Park area that gets pretty packed on Saturday nights, although it’s got a great comfortable vibe about it that doesn’t make you feel rushed or packed together like sardines.  On Saturday evenings they have live music, which when the guy showed up we all thought, OH NO – because we were afraid it was going to be loud, but on that night it was chill he played a xylephone type instrument that was made of wood.  Lovely background noise that is still easy to hear each other over.

If you go to Mothers – and you should – I HIGHLY recommend the Cheese Enchiladas with Verde Sauce.  Very Delicious!  Susan and Miranda got the Spinach Lasagna, which was huge and they said very tasty.  Kelly got Nachos which was also huge and very good.  I got a spice cake to go and that was nice and moist with great flavor.  SO – Mother’s Cafe – Tasty vegan/vegetarian, large portions, lovely atmosphere.  Try it.

Susan brought a book about Bonnie and Clyde named Bonnie and Clyde: The Lives Behind the Legend by Paul Schneider – which you can read a timeline and the first 20 pages here – look for the free sample button next to the book.  She read it last year, and was surprised to learn that Clyde himself had a Near Death Experience.  That led us to a whole discussion on “coming back” to do good or bad.  Which lead to a discussion on free will, and how, interestingly, Bonnie and Clyde provided a diversion for the country during the dismal days of the Depression.

Sara brought a book too, named The Emotion Code by Dr. Bradley Nelson.  You can learn about that book here.  This book discusses something we all within the group know to be true – that you can hold emotions in your body and that doing so can lead to illness.  We discussed how past emotional traumas can be held in the body as well, causing weaknesses that can lead to injuries.  We had a lengthy discussion about body work since some of the members of the group practice Reiki and other body work.  We talked about different experiences we’ve had while giving and receiving Reiki, and how basic energy work can lend itself to overall strengthening of psychic abilities.  Good stuff.

Our next dinner will be at Habisha and we’ll be enjoying Ethiopian food together.  Ethiopian is different, there are no utensils and you pick everything up with this interesting bread.  If you’ve never had it, Habisha is some of the best!  The topic for discussion will be Channeling – and the different ways people channel, some people may be surprised to learn there are many different ways…some channel with Angels, some with Spirit Guides, others tap into energy and the actual person or event they are reading.  The next dinner is available online if you would like to check it out here, like I mentioned we’ll be steering WAY CLEAR of SXSW and Downtown.  So if you are looking for an interesting way to spend your Saturday night, minus the headache of finding parking, crowds, overall drunken foolishness – and would like to join us instead, you are invited!

Speaking of Channeling, on Traveling Psychic Supper Club Radio this week (3/27/14) we’ll be interviewing local Austin Psychic Jo Todd, who channels Invisible Presence Isaiah.  TPSC Radio is LIVE every Thursday at 5:00pm Central on  We welcome call ins at (919) 295-0150, have a chat room available during the show, and love to hear from listeners.  If you miss the show it’s always available afterwards on demand here.  If you have a show idea we would love to hear from you too!  You can always email me at

Thanks for stopping by the blog, feel free to leave a question or comment, and if you are in Austin for SXSW, be careful and have fun!

Psychic TV – behind the scenes…April’s dinner at Moonshine

It’s been a while since this all happened, it feels like years actually, and I still feel like I’m catching up!  TPSC spent a week in April shooting a ton of footage that is being used to pitch a show  about the group.  We spent hours working with our New York crew – David, Andrew, Alexis and Josh filming, brainstorming, planning, sharing experiences and of course, eating!  We capped off the week shooting a private dinner at MOONSHINE in April.  Moonshine has its own story, as we found out – the room we shot in (the Sunday House) pictured below

had a couple of additional inhabitants hanging out all night in the storage space upstairs…peeping down occasionally to see what all was going on…We were sitting at a round table directly underneath the opening to the second floor, (which used to be a kitchen) above us.  Through out the dinner my attention kept getting pulled up in a couple of specific places, where there would be something like a movement, but when I looked up, I would see nothing.  But I could feel something was there.  At one point Kirby asked me, “Why do you keep looking up?”  when I told him why, but that I didn’t see anything, just kept having my attention lifted, he said, “yea, there’s two guys up there.” and pointed up at the area right above me and Kelly.  So Kirby could see what I couldn’t see, but could feel.  the place definitely had an energy all its own.  Here are some pics – although not very good, of the open upper space.

moonshine upstairs

upstairs at moonshine

(the crew used that open area to light the room with the film lights – one note about that – there were lights all over the room, otherwise it would have looked like a cave!  the lights that were actually in the room were tiny and put off very little light – so we had all of these extra lights in the space as well – in all of the corners in addition to all the ones up above.  But it was crazy – those lights should have made that tiny space hot, but it stayed cool all evening.  in fact, it was actually cold and the waitress kept coming in and turning the AC off, we didn’t need it at all.  The space was downright chilly – which the waitress noted isn’t normal.   At one point she came back in after hearing us talk about the “guys” upstairs and chimed in – that the staff said the “ghosts live upstairs” in the Sunday House.  We definitely felt their presence all night…

Here are some other pics – some behind the scenes stuff, which is my favorite.  I wanted to get a lot more of actual filming, but they kind of look down on you grabbing your camera and taking pics during taping.  So this is what I’ve got to share from the week…

Ludin's reading

Susan and I went to get our hair cut – and she gave her       hairdresser Ludin a reading.  Quite by surprise, he in turn asked if he could give her one too!  He did a great job, showing exactly what we always say

– everyone has psychic skills –

you just have to trust your own insight.

All the footage (and these pics only show a fraction of it) is currently being edited and we are looking forward to spending the summer here in Austin, with our local friends before finding out what comes next.  Thank you to everyone who has supported this little idea about a Supper Club for Psychics, become a part of us and participated in the growth of the group.  We’ll keep you updated.  But for now, join us in May at Epicerie, for what we consider a “normal” dinner – which of course as we all know…is anything but…

Psychic Dinner – # 2 – SO I’m a little behind…February at Mandola’s Italian

This post is a little late, but better late than never…it’s been sitting in my drafts page, lonely and sad.  So I guess it’s time to see the light of day… February dinner was at Mandola’s Italian which is delicious.  This dinner was especially wonderful for me because my mom was in town and came to share the experience – which everyone enjoyed. Here’s a tiny food/restaurant review…Everyone devoured what they had, although the Caprice Salad was just a bit heavy on the oil…EVERYTHING else was great – my Mom – who everyone calls Doe (my daughter was the first grandkid, and that was her name for her.  So it stuck.  Now EVERYONE calls my mom (who’s real name is Sue) DOE.)  Doe and I shared the Lasagna and had some left over it was a good-sized portion.  Kirby, Kelly, Dina and Blessing all had Pizza which looked great.  If you go to Mandola’s and order the Fried mozzarella – expect a massive order – very large and tasty.  Susan and John had the Tortellini – both large portions that they said were delicious.  I keep trying to remember to take pictures of the food before we eat, but forget.  Until after.  So here is how much we all loved Mandola’s.

OK, on to the conversation.  We talked a bit about Past Life stuff, Near Death Experiences, how Psychic Abilities run in families.  Lacey had something pretty amazing happen regarding one of her pendulums, hopefully she’ll chime in here and add the experience her in the comments.  Sadly, since this post has been sitting around for a couple of months I can’t remember much more about what all happened.  I’m asking for a little help here, and hope some of my other members will help fill in the gaps.  Nowadays a few months ago seems like years.  Also, it was a little loud at Mandola’s so the conversation split up a couple of times, into two or three, which is totally cool when it happens.  The dinners are always evolving.  Everyone that is supposed to connect does.  And we’ve even gotten to where we meet outside of the dinners, different people just gravitate to each other.  So if you come and don’t get to connect the way you’d like to with someone that night, no worries – we’re connected outside of the dinners too.  And of course, there’s always next month. 🙂

Psychic Dinner #1 – January at Hoover’s

Saturday evening at Hoover’s was our first dinner of the year – 1 down, 11 to go.

This dinner was a little…disconnected. To start off I do need to say, Hoover’s is home cooking. Comfort food to the MAX. I had – what you must have at a place like Hoover’s – Chicken Fried Steak. Mashed Potatoes. Gravy. Fried Okra (which was top notch) and Mac and Cheese. Heart Healthy…probably not so much. But Delicious. We sat right in the middle of the restaurant, which, in hindsite wasn’t the best spot for conversation, Hoover’s is LOUD LOUD LOUD…so we had dinner there and then went to Bennu, staying on the East Side.

But back to disconnections. We were very spread out on one long table. So it made it very hard to talk from one end to the other. One note: Hoover’s does have a private room, which I didn’t know about, otherwise we definitely would have utilized it! Kirby was way at one end, Lacey and Susan all the way at the other. Kirby felt so far away…so it made it hard to talk. Adriana and Deana were new, and I wish they could have gotten a fuller experience – but from what I heard they were happy enough and will be back – yippee!

So one of the reasons for the Disconnect – we’ve been working on a pretty big project – that is still kind of hush hush – but it’s been on all of our minds so there was a little discussion here and there about that. A couple of us did decide however afterwards – no more outside stuff! We are the Traveling Psychic Supper Club, and we need to focus on psychic stuff. Sometimes you need to be reminded of the true purpose, when things feel…disconnected. There was some timely conversation about how a book I’ve been reading fit in perfectly with a situation that has been wrapping itself up in my life – and how external things come to us at just the right times…a book, a movie, a conversation – that can shed relevant light on a current situation. So I think, this project and the discussion about it was perfect for this dinner, but moving forward, will not be relevant again. Once we are all systems go – there won’t be a need.

So we ended up at Bennu – (losing Kirby along the way, then Susan, John and Adriana and Deana while we were there, but picking up Christine and Chris)- a great late night coffee shop/art gallery/workspace on MLK. 2013-01-26 19.07.31It was a little warm inside – it had been warm at Hoover’s too, so we opted for the outside seating. We could really spread out and talk which was nice, being able to hear each other, which wasn’t an option at Hoover’s. We had a little chat then a couple of us moved on to the Pump Project for an opening, that was from 7-10 and was still in full swing when we got there. So much in full swing in fact that it was a little overwhelming – all those people in such a bright white space was a lot for the empaths in us. Kelly and Lacey split after just a while – Jim and I left shortly after. The evening was kind of like a progressive dinner – that started with dinner! We moved from space to space, losing some, picking up some, and ending with Art. It wasn’t a normal dinner, it was a bit disconnected, but it was what it was, the first dinner of the year. 🙂
