This is fun…Is it Gold and White or Blue and Black – Perception over a Dress, and “Real” Life

Ok which did you see?  Gold and White or Blue and Black – It’s all about perception – Wired story to follow…

whitegold

Let’s play a game, let’s “Lay” the Gold/White, NO!  Blue/Black argument over ANY situation in life.  People are seriously going crazy about this.  I saw the picture and and said Blue/Black.  Actually it was more like Lavender/Black.  I showed Jim, same response.  I marveled over it for about …. 5 minutes.  Then I forgot about it and moved the F on.  I opened FB today and saw it trending…still.  It made me think of how long we have to hold onto our arguments, and how people jumping on one side or the other just perpetuates those arguments.  Just read ANY article on FB’s comments to see this.  And not just about dress color, things we “perceive” as the BIG STUFF!  Open Carry is a big one right now in the great state of Texas – so I’ll work with that.  Each side has their perception, and knows, absolutely, 100% sure they are right.  I’ve had my own opinions, but why does it matter?  It makes as much sense to argue about it as it does about this dress.  Especially in comments.  You can sit behind the keys of a computer and spew whatever your thoughts are all day long, whether Liberal or Conservative and it matters about as much as the color of this dress.  For some reason people have to attach to something – a perception that is RIGGGGHHHHHTTTT and profess it, attach to it, hold it up for everyone to see.  THIS IS IMPORTANT!!  LISTEN!  THIS IS RIGHT!!!  YOU ARE STUPID, PORK CHOP – yes, I actually read this a couple of days ago.  Pork chop.  But actually he spelled it wrong, he said Pork cop.  Kind of lost the zing…and made me laugh.  It just reminded me
this is all words, attached to perceptions.  And they are all about as important as if this dress is white or blue.  Depending on what computer you are looking at, the color changes.  Depending on what pic the person posted the color changes.  It’s not rocket science.  It’s fun, to think about for about a minute, but don’t lose your mind thinking about it.  Just see what you see, have fun with it, instead of arguing about it, and just move the F on with your day.  Don’t attach all your attention to what ends up being a perception.  Don’t get mad, don’t fight.  Just look at it, say, huh, interesting.

Keep your opinions to yourself, Pork Chop.

Have a happy day.  Here is the Wired story below.

The original image is in the middle. At left, white-balanced as if the dress is white-gold. At right, white-balanced to blue-black.

Not since Monica Lewinsky was a White House intern has one blue dress been the source of so much consternation.

(And yes, it’s blue.)

The fact that a single image could polarize the entire Internet into two aggressive camps is, let’s face it, just another Thursday. But for the past half-day, peopleacross social media have been arguing about whether a picture depicts a perfectly nice bodycon dress as blue with black lace fringe or white with gold lace fringe. And neither side will budge. This fight is about more than just social media—it’s about primal biology and the way human eyes and brains have evolved to see color in a sunlit world.

Light enters the eye through the lens—different wavelengths corresponding to different colors. The light hits the retina in the back of the eye where pigments fire up neural connections to the visual cortex, the part of the brain that processes those signals into an image. Critically, though, that first burst of light is made of whatever wavelengths are illuminating the world, reflecting off whatever you’re looking at. Without you having to worry about it, your brain figures out what color light is bouncing off the thing your eyes are looking at, and essentially subtracts that color from the “real” color of the object. “Our visual system is supposed to throw away information about the illuminant and extract information about the actual reflectance,” says Jay Neitz, a neuroscientist at the University of Washington. “But I’ve studied individual differences in color vision for 30 years, and this is one of the biggest individual differences I’ve ever seen.” (Neitz sees white-and-gold.)

Usually that system works just fine. This image, though, hits some kind of perceptual boundary. That might be because of how people are wired. Human beings evolved to see in daylight, but daylight changes color. That chromatic axis varies from the pinkish red of dawn, up through the blue-white of noontime, and then back down to reddish twilight. “What’s happening here is your visual system is looking at this thing, and you’re trying to discount the chromatic bias of the daylight axis,” says Bevil Conway, a neuroscientist who studies color and vision at Wellesley College. “So people either discount the blue side, in which case they end up seeing white and gold, or discount the gold side, in which case they end up with blue and black.” (Conway sees blue and orange, somehow.)

We asked our ace photo and design team to do a little work with the image in Photoshop, to uncover the actual red-green-blue composition of a few pixels. That, we figured, would answer the question definitively. And it came close.

Unknown

In the image as presented on, say, BuzzFeed, Photoshop tells us that the places some people see as blue do indeed track as blue. But…that probably has more to do with the background than the actual color. “Look at your RGB values. R 93, G 76, B 50. If you just looked at those numbers and tried to predict what color that was, what would you say?” Conway asks.

So…kind of orange-y?

“Right,” says Conway. “But you’re doing this very bad trick, which is projecting those patches on a white background. Show that same patch on a neutral black background and I bet it would appear orange.” He ran it through Photoshop, too, and now figures that the dress is actually blue and orange.

The point is, your brain tries to interpolate a kind of color context for the image, and then spits out an answer for the color of the dress. Even Neitz, with his weird white-and-gold thing, admits that the dress is probably blue. “I actually printed the picture out,” he says. “Then I cut a little piece out and looked at it, and completely out of context it’s about halfway in between, not this dark blue color. My brain attributes the blue to the illuminant. Other people attribute it to the dress.”

bluedress-315-new

Even WIRED’s own photo team—driven briefly into existential spasms of despair by how many of them saw a white-and-gold dress—eventually came around to the contextual, color-constancy explanation. “I initially thought it was white and gold,” says Neil Harris, our senior photo editor. “When I attempted to white-balance the image based on that idea, though, it didn’t make any sense.” He saw blue in the highlights, telling him that the white he was seeing was blue, and the gold was black. And when Harris reversed the process, balancing to the darkest pixel in the image, the dress popped blue and black. “It became clear that the appropriate point in the image to balance from is the black point,” Harris says.So when context varies, so will people’s visual perception. “Most people will see the blue on the white background as blue,” Conway says. “But on the black background some might see it as white.” He even speculated, perhaps jokingly, that the white-gold prejudice favors the idea of seeing the dress under strong daylight. “I bet night owls are more likely to see it as blue-black,” Conway says.

At least we can all agree on one thing: The people who see the dress as white are utterly, completely wrong.

Are you seeing Miracles? Start by SEEING EVERYTHING.

Miracles are going on all around us and although there is no degree – although we tend to start small.  We start with what we can – or allow ourselves to see.  So the question is – Are you seeing Miracles?  If not, why not?  Here are some answers.  And if you keep reading, you’ll see a little miracle, after all the gunk that is….

CLUTTER.  Mind clutter.  I’ve noticed a pattern with people lately – One I used to fall into, and still do on occasion, but now I catch myself.  I’M SOOOOOOO BUSY.  But take a second.  Think about it.  Are you?  ARE you?  how much time are you spending on things that DO NOT MATTER or contribute to your (and the people around you’s) quality of life.  Facebook.  Twitter.  Reading about celebrities – people you do not know and do not know you.  I’m not saying don’t use those things, but use them less or pick 1, only 1.  Notice when you start and when you stop.  10 minutes is more than enough.

DRAMA.  Yours or other people’s.  Doesn’t matter.  Getting down and dirty into someone else’s, or needing to tell your drama story – again, this is KEEPING you away from true quality of life, the true RICH experiences you deserve.  Drama is not a rich experience.  Drama is perpetuating foolishness.  It’s that simple.  Once you take a few steps back you can REALLY see it.  Drama creates DRAG.  Bags dragging on the ground is what I see.  Roots intertwined, creating a suffocation and inability to grow.  Do your friends stress you out?  Do you call them only to bitch, and do they call you to do the same?  It’s time for new friends.  You are holding yourself back from miracles. So many people have told me, “But wait!  What if that person is my MOM/SISTER/BROTHER/DAD??”  Oh yea, I hear that all the time.  ALL the time!  Should the fact you are related to this person have anything to do with the fact you are allowing the relationship to hold you back from miracles?  (Notice what I said – you are allowing the relationship to hold you back from miracles.  I didn’t say  THEY are holding you back from miracles.  See what I did there?  See what you are allowing?  BAM!

Here’s the flip of those:

CLEAN OPEN SPACES:  Clear out the crap.  Then do another sweep and clear out some more.  I’m in the process of doing this, in my home.  Clean it out and DON’T IMMEDIATELY GO LOOKING FOR MORE!  Don’t replace what you just cleaned! We all do it, notice it, and stop.  It works the same way in life.  Instead of buying more disposable crap, get rid of it all and get one GOOD thing that does the job.  You only need one.  (I only need one, maybe two black t-shirts.  Do you know what I pick up the most when I go shop?  PUT DOWN THE BLACK T SHIRT!  YOU ALREADY HAVE 10!)  See how this carries over to FB, Twitter, Instagram, TMZ, You don’t have to read Every Article on FB.  Pick one.  Move on.  DON’T read the comments.  They will only piss you off and contribute to that mind clutter.  Leave some open space – for spontaneity, to do something different, stop and chat face to face with a friend…great things can happen in that “open” space.  Take your kid for an ice cream, throw the ball for 10 minutes, you get it.  There are no screens in open space.  (Sorry)

DON’T PLAY:  Divert Divert Divert.  Present positive conversations instead of negative ones.  Thing is, sometimes that doesn’t work.  Be ok with that.  Just don’t return those phone calls, or if you are able, let that person know you can’t have that conversation anymore, but say it with love – Literally – tell them, listen, “I love you, but I just can’t talk about that anymore”.  Or simply say “That doesn’t work for me.”  Simple.  To the point.  Not a lot of words, and more importantly NO EXCUSES.  I learned that from my Mother In Law Years ago – and I still use it to this day.  No Judgement, no fluff.  I share it with people all the time and see that light bulb go on…wow.  Yea, that DOESN’T work for me!  You’re welcome.

Some people will feel judged by that, but remember, you are trying to see miracles, don’t let that stand in your way.  Invite them to see miracles too!  Some will take you up on it, some won’t.  That’s just the way it is.  Maybe the invitation plants a seed that you will never see grow.  But the seed is there none the less.  Pretty cool.

Do these things and then…going through your day, notice EVERYTHING.  Let your vision open.  Use the peripheral.  REALLY use the peripheral.  Here’s an example – a couple of days ago I went out back to let my dogs out.  The sun was shining on the grass, and I noticed a twinkle.  I’d been standing on the back porch just looking at…well, nothing.  Just looking around the yard, when I saw that twinkle.  Can you see them?  bigger picture blades of grass

They caught my attention because I WASN’T REALLY LOOKING FOR ANYTHING.  I was just in open space.  I wasn’t trying to accomplish anything, or make something happen, fill the time with something.  But when I saw that little twinkle, I thought, “huh, what’s that?”  and I walked over.  This is what I saw.

widebladespic

blades of grass

And I was amazed.  Each blade that held a drop and almost all of them did – was beautiful in its own right.  But together, they were stupendous.  And they were everywhere.  I took a few minutes to take the pictures and just enjoy them.  I felt like each one was smiling at me, happy to be recognized.  Miracles are HAPPY to be recognized.  This was a beautiful shared moment.  The picture cannot express the feeling I felt being connected just momentarily to these tiny sweet blades of grass.  I looked out later, and the drops were gone.

Open space allows for miracles to be seen.  Tunnel vision does not allow for miracles.  When I work with kids I tell them, SEE EVERYTHING.  We practice it.  I tell them look at me, but notice – not by looking – but by using your peripheral vision – tell me what color socks the kid next to you is wearing.  It freaks them out that they can do that.  I tell them, practice seeing everything.  When you train yourself to “see everything” you start catching the little things.  And that’s where a lot of the miracles are.  That’s where we start seeing them anyway.  Connections happen, in the little miracles.  When you start connecting to the little things, you start CONNECTING the little things.  You notice synchronicities.  Then you notice more.  And when you notice more, you start to talk about them, then you talk less about drama.  This is the way this happens.  You are open to the new and forget, simply forget about the old.  You are ready for experiences that SERVE you, and in turn you can SERVE others.  Remember the clutter?  Does it serve you?  If it doesn’t get rid of it.  Does the Drama serve you, so you in turn can serve others?  You know the answers.  See the connections.  They will only get bigger and more frequent.  See EVERYTHING, and you will inevitably SEE MIRACLES.

And when you repeatedly see miracles, you start to TALK about miracles.  Then you talk about miracles more and more, and the only conversations you have are about miracles.  And they spark other interesting conversations and connections.  Believe me, I see it EVERY DAY.  Sure you still go to work, but you see it differently.  You still have to  go to the store, get gas, drive your kids around, but you live it DIFFERENTLY.  You begin to see things differently, then you begin to do things with intent.  You still go  on Facebook, but for shorter periods of time, because your life is fuller with good stuff.  People start to send you stories like this one.  And you know where I got it?  My Mom – sent it to me….on Facebook.

If you have time read the article and watch the video, but definitely read the article – it lists way more miracles than the video does.  And please note: this is not about religion.  This is about a direct connection, synchronicities that cannot be denied, and a little boy who was dead for 45 minutes who came back to life.  It’s that simple.  If you enjoy it, or feel lead to, please share.  Let’s talk about Miracles.

Have an amazing, miracle filled day.

Creating Catalysts – Psi-Mind, Evolution and Accessing Upper Intelligence

It’s been a while and again, of course TPSC has undergone a change, but it’s part of a long line of evolution…

we’ve gone from social – raising the flag to draw those first key individuals, all of whom have moved on, or mostly moved on….worked on the beginnings of a TV show – which showed me I can’t conform to be something I’m not, I don’t fit into a box.  When we were doing that I was worried all the time, is this what a network would want?  Am I doing this the right way?  Is this going to be put together in a way that represents what I’m truly trying to convey?  So even though the show didn’t materialize – it did it’s job.  It showed me I have to be exactly who I am and not worry about what other people think.

During that time TPSC also became a radio show – we are broadcast every Thursday evening at 5:00pm central time on www.paramaniaradio.com  – if you miss a show or would like to go back and listen to old shows TPSC is available on demand here: http://paramaniaradio.com/On-Demand.php?ondemanddir=Traveling%20Psychic%20Supper%20Club – there are currently 53 shows available – and you can listen on the site or download them.  The radio show broadened the reach, and it brought in yet more amazing minds who continue on with me today.  Others that are living this life, utilizing the skills we all have available to us.  I value and reach out to these minds on a regular basis, check in and continue to evaluate my own growth.  For these people and relationships I am eternally grateful.

paramania-logo

And the evolution has continued.  Now TPSC is a focused development and study group, meeting again in Austin, Texas.  We are monthly again, not around food, but around information.  In my own personal evolution I have become a researcher and am
daily gaining knowledge and information about that which exists outside of us.  Information that our Psi-mind can access.  In the future this blog will be used as a source to store information about my research, as a place to reach others that are doing similar research, even in fringe areas, and of course to connect with readers and share information.  TPSC is no longer a social group, that time has past.  We have always been about development, but now the time has come to push all…for lack of a better word – bullshit aside.  It’s time to get down to it.  There is work to be done.  Another thing:  I’m not adding pretty pictures, I don’t care about SEO.  If you find this page, it’s because you were meant to be here.  I’m not using internet tricks to draw traffic to this page.

And to the skeptics I say:  Just because you – you yourself personally, or who you represent  – don’t see something doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.  You can say all you want about me, fellow researchers, fellow Psi-minded, it doesn’t matter.  There are those of us already accessing and living full and growing lives utilizing our Psi skills.  Your fear and need to admonish us only keeps other people away and closed off from their ingrained God given Upper Intelligence.  Many people are living rich full lives, where there is no division between the Psi-mind and the “human” mind.  We are here, we are accessing what exists and is available to all of us.  Shame on you for keeping people in the dark.  There is a tipping point coming.  Fear can hide what exists for only so long.  And I extend an invitation:  Join us any time.  🙂

Jon Brooks Premonition, Some Cool Marketing and World Cup 2014 Futbol = LOVE

john-brooks-afp_2944263b

For anyone who doesn’t know, I’m a huge Futbol/Soccer Fan.  I’ll watch any game, anywhere.  For years I coached my son, who has gone on to play competitively, outgrowing my coaching skills by far.  So we’ve been looking forward to World Cup 2014 for a long time, and now it’s here.  Soccer holds a special place in our hearts here in the Antich Household…but when psychic stuff gets tied in with soccer –  well I can just about lose my mind.  Check it out.

There’ve been some great games, great goals, and  for anyone who hasn’t heard, an amazing premonition by American player Jon Brooks.  Here’s the goal – and if you listen close you can hear the commentator say,

“HE COULDN’T HAVE EVEN DREMPT IT.”

But actually, he did.  He drempt it two days earlier.

And here’s what makes this story even more incredible and unbelievable.  Brooks is a SUB.  So, the probability of him even playing was very very slim.  He  ONLY went in because someone got hurt.

He is the FIRST SUB EVER IN US HISTORY TO SCORE A GOAL.  FIRST SUB EVER TO SCORE A GOAL.  IN US HISTORY.  Do you understand what I am saying??!  He drempt it was 88th minute…and scored in the 86th.

THAT IS AMAZING.  I AM LOVING THIS BEAUTIFUL GAME.  Oh and if you haven’t seen it, here is some marketing I can actually get behind, nice job Coca Cola.  🙂

This year we aren’t different, we compete, we root, we share, we scream and we cry,

We LOVE the Beautiful Game.

WELCOME OCTOBER….AND NEW FALL DINNERS

Hello again, it’s the best month of the year and I’ve finally got the fall dinners up on the site!

GREAT NEWS – for those of you who have been trying to get into a dinner but they are always full, we are doing a couple of bigger dinners – Halloween is going to be AMAZING – at Clay Pit, in a private room.  Sometimes we have issues with not being able to hear due to background restaurant noise now that the dinner have gotten bigger.  But at Clay Pit we will be in the Wine Room which is really beautiful and best of all – PRIVATE!  So I’m gonna kick it up a notch and make this dinner a costume affair.  Oh, yes and by the way, of course….Clay Pit is rumored to be supremely HAUNTED….

I hope Kirby will still show up, costumes AND Indian food may be too much for him but I hope not since I haven’t seen him in a while….   😉

So that’s all for now, I’m keeping this one short and sweet.  A lot has been going on, but I’ll write about that next time…for now-

HAPPY OCTOBER – Hope to see you soon!

Hello again, and please forgive me for taking so long between posts.  ESPECIALLY if you follow me at Ifyoucouldseewhatihear too, I’m trying to figure out a way to combine these posts – Different people follow that blog than follow this one, if anyone has  any ideas on how to put these out to both, seriously, I’d love to hear any suggestions on how to reach everyone.  Send them my way.  I don’t want to appear lazy by posting this info this way, I’m doing the best I can with my limited knowledge of wordpress…and I really love having the two different looks on the different blogs.  But since this is Austin Related, here it is!  Click the pic below to read the back story on the event and how it came into being…and if you are in Austin, please consider this your formal invitation…

Giving it Away – Art Of Non-Conformity Challenge Accepted – 2 Free Email Readings

I got an email in my inbox today from Chris Guillebeau, who by a Non-Random Co-Incidence I met yesterday at  Book People in Austin (You can check out the post here:)

http://ifyoucouldseewhatihear.wordpress.com/2013/03/11/sxsw2013-chris-guillebeau-and-the-100-startup-connection/

This email put out a challenge to all the readers of The Art of Non-Conformity to make something that’s worth something available for FREE.  I am meeting the challenge by…giving away 2 FREE BUSINESS RELATED EMAIL READINGS, which are usually $25 apiece.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Here’s how it works: With an email reading you can ask me up to 5 questions related to your business that you would like for me to look at with a “psychic eye”.   If there is a specific area of struggle you would like to overcome or look at from a different angle please include it in your email.  Once I receive the email give me a couple of days before responding.  I’ll send you any information I receive, which you may or may not reply to, however you feel.  Then after about a week I’ll send a follow-up email checking in.  Usually after a reading the receiver will have a couple of “clicks” take place that shift their perception, or something will come into their lives that acts like a tool or catalyst to show a new path or direction.  So we do a little follow-up just to “close” the session.

One note:  I’m not wanting to see people’s actual  numbers, I’m a psychic, not an accountant!  But usually struggles with money aren’t with the money at all.  I can see things from a different point of view.

If you would like to learn more about my abilities and how I read please feel free to check out the About ME page before responding.  I’ll pick two people at random over the next couple of days to receive an Email Reading.  If you would like to be considered, please just leave a comment below, and I’ll email the “winners” back within about 10 days.

____________________________________________________________________________________________

A special thanks to Chris again for making this challenge available to all AONC readers.  If you feel led to give something of value away for free, please take part in the challenge – and leave a comment so I can share it with my readers too.  Here’s the link to the ART OF NON-CONFORMITY challenge: http://chrisguillebeau.com/3×5/help-someone-for-free/

I’m posting this on my other blog as well – www.ifyoucouldseewhatihear.wordpress.com – so if you see this twice, I apologize!  Thanks as always for reading – now get out there and make someone else’s day.  🙂

South Congress Cafe – Lunch, Tarot and Scouting Restarurants

Friday I spent the day with fellow Traveling Psychic Supper Club member Susan Hansson – an amazingly gifted Tarot card reader, author of 3 books on Tarot and Intuitive formerly from the East Coast. In fact, I think she moved here to become a part of our group…Stranger things have definitely happened… We ducked in and out of boutiques and vintage stores on South Congress – no, I will NEVER call it SO-CO…

And landed in South Congress Cafe.

2013-02-07 13.00.37

One of the great things about Susan, is if you are having a conversation, and have a question, she’ll say, “Well, let’s ask the cards.” So we did. Right there in the middle of South Congress Cafe.  She’s also available for persona readings, you can find her website below.

First, let me say, a couple of years ago this would have been unheard of for me. I’ve never really connected with Tarot, until meeting Susan.  Her style of reading is so wonderfully casual, it’s not like anything I’ve ever experienced before. Her style, is of course just like her. Easy to talk to. Positive. And always RIGHT ON THE MONEY. She gave me a wonderful gift of the Palladini Deck and Book set, which literally she wrote the book for.  Click the image to check it out on Amazon…it’s got a nice little chunk of the book there.  It’s out of stock at that location, but you can get the whole set here:

http://www.amazon.com/Palladini-Tarot-Deck-With-Book/dp/0880799986

I’m so thankful for the gift because I wouldn’t have ever bought my own deck, because like I said, I’ve never really had an interest in Tarot. But Susan did a great job of showing me how to consult the deck, I was intrigued.  It’s not this big thing, like I thought.  It’s not what you think at all.  No incense.  No scarves draped over lamps.  No need for fanciness.  KNOWING Susan I let go of all those stereotypes.  Shes’ a regular person, like the rest of us in the Supper Club.  Click the pic or the link below to go straight to her website.  🙂

http://susanhansson.com/

Tarot is easy.  Just a simple question, and an answer.  It can be a full reading or a single card pull.  I’d always steered clear of Tarot because I thought it was complicated.  It’s not.  And it’s for everyone who wants to use it, it’s just another tool.

SO anyway, she pulled out the cards and read them in the restaurant!  What a fun time.

Lots of people looking over, interested, or distracted…whatever you want to call it, I was totally into the reading, Susan was the  one that noticed what was going on around us…Back to the reading- it showed exactly what I thought it would, and introduced some new thoughts that were on the outside of my mind.  That’s one of the great things about the cards, they confirm and affirm, but also shed light on the outer edges of your thoughts.  Susan was the reader, but I weighed in as well.  We came to conclusions together.  It was perfect.   She sees things in the individual cards – and since she wrote the book, is very knowledgable of each and every one.  It’s really fascinating, and enlightening her take on every card, and it’s different every time, depending on the cards around that specific card.  Like I said, I’m still learning.  But I have an amazing mentor and teacher – and best of all friend.

And for any of y’all that notice the double Page of Pentacles – there’s a funny story as to why there are two in Susan’s specific personal deck.  the regular deck only has one of each card.  But for this specific reading, I’ll take a Double Page of Pentacles.  OH YEA!!

Oh, btw, the Crab Cakes at South Congress Cafe are delicious.  We also had the Seared Tuna Salad which was tasty as well.  If you’re over on South Congress – stop in for a Crab Cake, you’ll be glad you did!  Click the crab cake pic below to check out their website and menu…If you’ve eaten there’s what’s your favorite dish?  Anyway, happy Sunday, we’re off to the river…again!

Psychic Dinner #1 – January at Hoover’s

Saturday evening at Hoover’s was our first dinner of the year – 1 down, 11 to go.

This dinner was a little…disconnected. To start off I do need to say, Hoover’s is home cooking. Comfort food to the MAX. I had – what you must have at a place like Hoover’s – Chicken Fried Steak. Mashed Potatoes. Gravy. Fried Okra (which was top notch) and Mac and Cheese. Heart Healthy…probably not so much. But Delicious. We sat right in the middle of the restaurant, which, in hindsite wasn’t the best spot for conversation, Hoover’s is LOUD LOUD LOUD…so we had dinner there and then went to Bennu, staying on the East Side.

But back to disconnections. We were very spread out on one long table. So it made it very hard to talk from one end to the other. One note: Hoover’s does have a private room, which I didn’t know about, otherwise we definitely would have utilized it! Kirby was way at one end, Lacey and Susan all the way at the other. Kirby felt so far away…so it made it hard to talk. Adriana and Deana were new, and I wish they could have gotten a fuller experience – but from what I heard they were happy enough and will be back – yippee!

So one of the reasons for the Disconnect – we’ve been working on a pretty big project – that is still kind of hush hush – but it’s been on all of our minds so there was a little discussion here and there about that. A couple of us did decide however afterwards – no more outside stuff! We are the Traveling Psychic Supper Club, and we need to focus on psychic stuff. Sometimes you need to be reminded of the true purpose, when things feel…disconnected. There was some timely conversation about how a book I’ve been reading fit in perfectly with a situation that has been wrapping itself up in my life – and how external things come to us at just the right times…a book, a movie, a conversation – that can shed relevant light on a current situation. So I think, this project and the discussion about it was perfect for this dinner, but moving forward, will not be relevant again. Once we are all systems go – there won’t be a need.

So we ended up at Bennu – (losing Kirby along the way, then Susan, John and Adriana and Deana while we were there, but picking up Christine and Chris)- a great late night coffee shop/art gallery/workspace on MLK. 2013-01-26 19.07.31It was a little warm inside – it had been warm at Hoover’s too, so we opted for the outside seating. We could really spread out and talk which was nice, being able to hear each other, which wasn’t an option at Hoover’s. We had a little chat then a couple of us moved on to the Pump Project for an opening, that was from 7-10 and was still in full swing when we got there. So much in full swing in fact that it was a little overwhelming – all those people in such a bright white space was a lot for the empaths in us. Kelly and Lacey split after just a while – Jim and I left shortly after. The evening was kind of like a progressive dinner – that started with dinner! We moved from space to space, losing some, picking up some, and ending with Art. It wasn’t a normal dinner, it was a bit disconnected, but it was what it was, the first dinner of the year. 🙂

Oh yes, and we said farewell for now to Bobbie, who has flown away to create her way.  Bye Bobbie!  You’ll always be a member of TPSC!  All our best, and keep in touch… Anyone have anything to add?
